Future Rail x Tech

#Mobility #DisruptiveTechnologies #Indstry4.0

Technological progress offers the opportunity to completely rethink mobility. Work together with DB on the question: How will rail mobility change technologically over the next 10 years and what concrete possibilities and solutions will this create for end customers as well as in the areas of infrastructure, rail operations, maintenance & Co?

What is Deutsche Bahn's vision for the digital world of tomorrow?

We have one fundamental concern: getting more traffic on the rails. Our Strong Rail strategy creates the conditions for this.

For the climate:

For the people:

For the economy:

For Europe:

What potential does Deutsche Bahn have to help shape a digital and sustainable future together with the digital generation?
  • around 2.0 billion passengers per year in regional traffic
  • approx. 33,400 km of rail network in Germany
  • about 5,700 passenger stations
  • more than 230 million tons of goods transported by rail
  • 289 ICEs at the end of 2019 and more and more
  • more than 7,900 km of traction power network

In short: DB is an integral part of Germany and Europe and is expressly committed to its role in society.

The strong railways help our country to master existential challenges: Germany will only achieve its climate targets if it succeeds in shifting a massive amount of traffic to the railways in the coming decade. And the Federal Republic will only continue to be an economically successful country if people and goods remain mobile and do not get stuck in traffic jams more and more frequently. Deutsche Bahn is facing up to this responsibility. Without ifs and buts, in close cooperation with the entire industry and politics. Because everyone must pull together to ensure a strong railroad. For the benefit of Germany - and for the benefit of Europe.

However, a comprehensive expansion for a strong railroad is not possible without a consistent digitalization of all areas. This is precisely where the recently developed digital and technology strategy comes in. The digital generation can thus help to shape a digital and sustainable future within all elements of the digital and technology strategy - whether as part of the Germany 4.0 Initiative, as a DB employee ... or in any other form.
