What values are important when it comes to the digital future?
As Deutsche Bahn, we want to be a reliable and forward-looking partner for all our stakeholders in the digital change. The basis for this is an ethical approach to the effects of technological progress and the digitization of our business activities on society. We stand for ethical and responsible dealings with all people, with technological progress and digitization, along our value chain and beyond. We advocate the use of digital technologies and data that actively exploits opportunities while minimizing risks for people and the environment.
Our guidelines for digital responsibility:
- Focus on people: We don't think digitization is about what is technically feasible, but about the benefits for people. That's why we only do things when the interests of the stakeholders are adequately taken into account.
- Security first: The security and technical robustness of our business processes and services is a basic principle of our work, even in the digital age.
- Protect privacy: When collecting and processing the data of customers, employees and other stakeholders, protecting the privacy and personal rights of each individual is a top priority.
- Turn employees into implementation partners: Our employees are our most important partners for living digital responsibility. That's why we support them in being fit for the work of the future and actively participating in digital change.
- Designing sustainable innovations: When developing, promoting and implementing new digital products, services or processes, we want to be guided by economic, social and ecological criteria.
- Demonstrating transparency and integrity: We ensure appropriate transparency and involvement in digital issues that affect important interests of our stakeholders. In all our digital activities, we consistently act in accordance with ethical principles.
- Consistency in implementation: To implement our digital responsibility, we ensure clear responsibilities and roles within the DB Group. Through targeted partnerships and dialog with third parties in the area of digital responsibility, we will continue to pool our strengths to achieve better results for ourselves and our stakeholders.
