What happens with the IP of my solution?

All final teams retain full ownership of their solution and IP.

After the Boost Phase (final event), final teams agree to enter into discussions with the respective challenge provider within three (3) months regarding possible further use and a potential cooperation based on the solution.

During this exclusivity period, final teams also agree not to enter into negotiations or discussions with third parties regarding the commercial use of the specific solution developed within the challenge (this does not restrict the finalist’s general business activities or other, unrelated projects).

If no written cooperation agreement is concluded within the exclusivity period, the challenge provider receives a three (3) month Matching Right: if the finalist intends to accept a written third-party offer for the commercial use of the solution during this period, the finalist must submit the offer to the challenge provider. The challenge provider may then enter into the agreement under the same material terms within four (4) weeks.

Both parties (challenge provider and finalists) may also agree on additional or deviating individual arrangements (e.g., NDAs, IP handling, commercialization terms) at the beginning of or during the collaboration phase.

All details can be found in the conditions of participation.
