Visualization of CO2 emissions for industrial customers
#EmpowerEnergyEvolution #CarbonNeutralBy2035 #FutureEnergy
Only the transparency and knowledge of CO2 emissions of certain processes enable a sustainable optimization of the ecological footprint of industrial companies. Together with Uniper, we drive important innovations in the field of CO2 visualization and develop (digital) solutions that help to capture and reduce CO2 emissions from industrial processes.

Company - Who are we?
Uniper is an experienced international energy company with around 12.000 employees from more than 70 countries.
We combine a balanced portfolio of technologically advanced large-scale plants with outstanding technical and commercial expertise and 100 years of experience.
We are a global energy company that generates, trades and markets energy on a large scale. We also procure, store, transport and supply raw materials such as natural gas, LNG and coal, as well as energy-related products. We are active in more than 40 countries.
The triad of climate protection through decarbonization, tailor-made customer solutions and security of supply will determine Uniper's strategic business development in the coming decade.
Our "Making Net-Zero Possible" project aims to develop new technologies to make our gas-fired power plants in Europe even more fuel-efficient and climate-friendly. Replacing natural gas with environmentally friendly fuels such as hydrogen and the capture, storage and use of carbon could gradually bring gas-based power generation closer to net zero emissions. This will help us reduce our carbon footprint even further.
We share our industry-leading expertise with our customers by developing customized solutions that increase their efficiency, lower their costs and reduce their carbon emissions. We also leverage our engineering and gas procurement expertise to help industrial companies to “be more energy efficient and less carbon intensive. We help them convert their power plants from coal to gas or biomass, analyze their production processes and energy supply, identify, and prioritize equipment changes, and handle installation.
What is Uniper's vision for the digital world of tomorrow?
Digitization - with all its facets - plays a fundamental role in shaping the future of energy supply. Digitization is the only way to implement our "Empower Energy Evolution" strategy. This strategy focuses on a secure and at the same time more climate-friendly energy supply and on offering our customers increasingly climate-friendly energy solutions and products. In Uniper's vision of the digital world, the boundaries between industries and parts of the energy industry are increasingly disappearing. Digitalized energy systems will be better able to identify who needs energy and deliver it at the right time, in the right place and at the lowest possible cost. The entire Uniper business will become more data-driven, networked and customer-oriented.
What values are important when it comes to the digital future?
Digitization is about more than bits and bytes. It is about "mindset" and culture. The use of technology that is easy and effective to use creates better connections - between industries, organizations but above all between people - it improves collaboration and promotes a culture of shared learning and cooperation in all areas of society and the company.
What potential does Uniper have to help shape a digital and sustainable future together with the digital generation?
Uniper has always been a technology-oriented energy company that has fostered innovation and supported positive change for society. Uniper will accelerate this journey with its "Empower Energy Evolution" strategy. To this end, Uniper will invest approximately €1.2 billion by 2022 in projects that will help facilitate the transition to a CO2-reduced energy world. In recent years, Uniper has successfully implemented digitization projects in various areas that have attracted attention beyond industry boundaries. For example, large industrial customers and regional suppliers have the opportunity to manage their portfolio independently and online via the Uniper self-service platform "Uniper Digital". The self-developed tool Enerlytics enables the live monitoring of power plants as well as their control management, maintenance planning and risk management of power plants. The tool was awarded the Frost and Sullivan Product Leadership Award as the industry leading IoT platform in the power generation sector. An extension of the customer offering with a CO2 reporting tool would therefore be a useful and promising addition.
The will to shape and the necessary know-how make Uniper an important partner in shaping a digital and sustainable future. The cooperation with the digital generation is highly desired and desired and is made possible already now and in the future through university cooperations, the Uniper Trainee Program as well as the possibility of direct entry for job starters*.
